Looking for a Dog-friendly Hotel this Summer?

Part 1 of our Dog-Friendly Accommodation guide covering... London, Manchester, Devon & Birmingham.


With summer upon us, you may be looking for your summer break or holiday. But did you know that you don't necessarily need to leave your dog behind? Many hotels across the country open their doors to our four-legged friends with some even going the extra mile by providing dog treats, dog beds, doggie dinners and waste bags. In part 1 of our Dog-friendly Accommodation Guide, we cover... London, Manchester, Devon & Birmingham. There's definitely a few here that you may want to consider. We always recommend contacting the hotel to confirm that pets are allowed before booking (just incase anything may have changed)!


London:

St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel:

Located on Euston Road, right near to King’s Cross St Pancras Station, this Victorian masterpiece has been lovingly renovated and described as London’s most romantic building. The hotel welcomes both dogs and their owners and greets its four-legged guests with a box of doggie goodies on arrival. During your stay you’ll be able to dine with your dog and arrange dog sitting/walking if required. They also offer a ‘Pooch City Break’ that allows furry friend's to learn city skills, including taking a selfie on an iPad (maybe they really can start managing their own Instagram accounts)! Prices start from £247 per night and the full 'St Pancras Pooch City Break' experience prices are from £740.



Hotel 41, Buckingham Palace Road:

Hotel 41 is situated in a sought-after location and overlooks the Queen's Garden, adjacent to the Royal Mews. All the rooms have been recently furnished with state-of-the-art modern technologies. You can be sure that your pooch will be treated like royalty with the hotels very own pet concierge catering for their every need. They will also be treated to a welcome hamper, a bed, mineral water and menus. If you are venturing out, but need to leave the pooches behind, you can take advantage of their pet-sitting, walking and grooming services, plus litter boxes and first-aid kits. Prices vary depending on suite choice and time of your trip. True pet luxury!



Travelodge, Battersea:

If you're looking for a budget stay, then why not head to South West London with your dog. They charge a fee of £20 per pet, but this doesn't include any extras, so make sure you bring all the necessities they need with you. Your dog will be able to explore Battersea Park, which is perfect for a lovely walk. Prices start from £69 excluding the pet fee.



Manchester:

Hotel Gotham, Manchester City Centre:

This stylish, iconic boutique hotel is situated in the heart of mid-town Manchester and is a former bank building. It has over 50 bedrooms, all fully equipped and individually designed. The rooms that boast a stunning mix of daring colours, bold patterns and luxurious fabrics will have your pooch feeling like a million dollars. Prices vary depending on duration and room, contact directly if you are taking your four-legged friend along.



Innside by Melia Manchester, City Centre:

This hotel is ideal if you’re looking for a overnight stay in the city centre and looking to take your dog with you. They welcome dogs up to 25 lbs for an additional fee of £10 per night. The hotel is only a 5-minute walk to the train station and hosts a gym, sauna, restaurant and bar. Prices start from around £70 per night.



Hallmark Inn Manchester, Fallowfield:

Hallmark Inn is situated in Fallowfield - just a 10 minute drive from Manchester centre. They have over 100 en-suite bedrooms to choose from with a range of options to suit every budget - from cosy classics, to executive rooms. Prices start from £80, and an additional £15 per dog will be added to your room rate. This does include treats on arrival, to help get your pooches holiday started!



Devon:

The Horn of Plenty, Tavistock:

This luxurious hotel is located on the border of Devon and Cornwall and overlooks the famous Tamar Valley. It’s a great place to stay if you want to escape the hustle-and-bustle and looking for a relaxing, peaceful break. Dogs are welcomed to stay in designated bedrooms within the property and play in the hotels 5 acres of gardens. They will also be treated to a complimentary “doggie dinner” on their first night. Prices start from £130 with an additional £10 per night charge for your dog. This hotel is also great if you would like to explore the Tamar Valley together.



Soar Mill Cove Hotel, Salcombe:

Soar Mill Cove Hotel is just outside the chic seaside town of Salcombe in Devon and overlooks the beautiful coast. It’s the ideal location for a family holiday as there’s plenty to do nearby and the hotel hosts its own spa - if you’re after a bit of pampering. You’ll be provided walking maps so you can explore your surroundings with your four-legged friend. Prices start from £199 and they charge an additional £12 a night for dogs. This does include some homemade 'Buddy's dog treats' and a dog bed on request too.



The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel, North Devon:

The Fox and Hounds Hotel in North Devon is tucked away in the heart of the glorious Devon countryside and set on the banks of the River Taw. They welcome dogs to enjoy a stay and provide all the essentials including dog towels, mats, bowls, spoons and waste bags. Prices start from just £75 per room with a £10 per night fee for (well-behaved) doggies.



Birmingham:

Hyatt Regency, City Centre:

This elegant Hyatt Regency Hotel is situated in Birmingham’s city centre. Each of the spacious rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling views of either the skyline or canal. During your stay you can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea or pamper yourself at their relaxing spa. They’ve also got a pool, fitness centre and business centre, so there really is something for everyone. Prices start from £144 and with an additional charge of £20 per night to bring your canine companion along with you.



Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Burlington Arcade:

The 4 star Macdonald Burlington Hotel is located near the University of Birmingham so is the perfect place to rest your head if you’re going to visit friends or family at the Uni. They have over 100 rooms, all individually designed and decorated and finished with luxurious goodies such as Elemis toiletries. Prices start from £120 per night but do vary depending on room type and time of year. Pooches are an additional charge of £15 per night and the hotel asks if you could please advise them of any four-legged guests as soon as possible.



Travelodge, Birmingham Central Broadway Plaza:

If you’re looking for somewhere for you and your dog to stay on more of a budget then do not fear as the Travelodge Birmingham opens its doors to our four-legged friends. It’s in the perfect location for dining and entertainment options and is only a short walk away from Symphony Hall and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Prices start from £40 and they advise to give the hotel a call when making a booking for you and your dog as additional prices may apply.
